SoulMates co-written Dr.Folk & Tanglust

dedicated to To My Father

Soulless eyes

By Steven Pasfield

He sits there, reading a book
just looking, at the book
not reading the page
the same page, for a long time.

Now he stares, over the page
through his glasses, wondering
about the day ahead, what to do
how quick can it go?

His soul mate: the woman he loved
six months since, a lifetime he thinks
has passed away - gone from his life
When will all this misery end?

The house, empty and cold
the dinner table, bare
tears well up in his eyes
for all the lost memories.

He stares, out of the window
wondering, what to do, how and if
then he draws the curtains
to block out the light.

No-one to share his thoughts with
he just sits there, day after day
looking, at the same page
the same book…

dedicated to all Soul Mates in pain

She floats there
behind his shoulder
not looking at the book
not reading the page,
the same page as long as he does.

She stares at him
though his glasses
wondering what he is going to do
How long before he comes to her.

Her soul mate: the man she loved
did not follow her a lifetime ago.
Gone from her etheral life.
When Will all this misery end?

This black place, empty and cold
no dinner table to set,
She is confused as she glimpses
him with tears in his eyes
and rejoices at the memories he
does recall.

She sees him at the window
and as he draws the curtains
he blocks out not only the light
but her as well.

No-one to share his thoughts with
he just sits there, day after day
looking, at the same page
the same book…

No-one to share her thoughts with
she floats there, day after day
trying to break the vial.the pain
all in vain, in vain.
