Combined Soul Mates Poem Man's read is bold

Steven Pasfield wrote a poem about his dad on facebook, then sent me an email from facebook to do a reply to his poem. The is the outcome. Bold male parts are Steven's poem and Itlatics are written by me Linda Bradley. Steve and I are great friends on Yahoo IM's and he is an inspiration to me. Thanks Steve for inspiring me to write a poetic reply to your poem on Facebook.com

He sits there, reading a book
just looking, at the book
not reading the page the same page,
for a long time

She floats there
behind his shoulder
not looking at the book
not reading the page,
the same page as long as he does.

Now he stares, over the page
through his glasses, wondering
about the day ahead, what to do
how quick can it go?

She stares at him
though his glasses
wondering what he is going to do
How long before he comes to her.

His soul mate: the woman he loved
six months since, a lifetime he thinks
has passed away - gone from his life
When will all this misery end?

Her soul mate: the man she loved
did not follow her a lifetime ago.
Gone from her ethereal life.
When Will all this misery end?

The house, empty and cold
the dinner table, bare
tears well up in his eyes
for all the lost memories.

This black place, empty and cold
no dinner table to set,
She is confused as she glimpses
him with tears in his eyes
but rejoices at the memories he
does not recall.

He stares, out of the window
wondering, what to do, how and if
then he draws the curtains
to block out the light.

She sees him at the window
and as he draws the curtains
he blocks out not only the light
but her as well.

No-one to share his thoughts with
he just sits there, day after day
looking, at the same page
the same book…

No-one to share her thoughts with
she floats there, day after day
trying to break the veil.the pain
all in vain, in vain.

I really like it. I am not generally into poetry, but you paint an awesome story with your words. I can't wait to hear it read.
